West Bromwich Albion have blocked a transfer request from Hungarian midfielder Zoltan Gera. The former Ferencvaros star wants a return to the top flight and is a target of Wigan Athletic.

"This is in keeping with the Baggies' strategy not to sell any of the key members of the first-team squad."
Wigan made a £10m bid three weeks ago for Gera, and his Baggies team-mates Nathan Ellington and Curtis Davies.
The trio are all said to be unhappy with the Baggies and want a return to the Premiership. Some reports go as far as saying that Ellington has threatened to go on strike until a move is manufactured.
