Speaking earlier in the season when Roy Keane had left Sunderland, then Latics boss Steve Bruce confirmed that he is black and white through and through.
Less than six months later and Bruce has left Wigan Athletic to join Newcastle's arch rivals Sunderland.Speaking back in December when he was linked with a move to Sunderland, Bruce told the Sun: "Let's nip this straight in the bud. It's a total non-starter. I'm very happy at Wigan and if you cut me open I'd be black and white to the core!"
In particular he cited the fact that he would consider the move to be betrayal to then outgoing Sunderland boss Roy Keane, a former colleague of Bruce at Manchester United.
It is unclear at present whether Sunderland supporters will take to Newcastle supporting Bruce who completed his move as manager at the Stadium of Light yesterday.
