It had been reported that the two sides where a million miles away in terms of wages, but Camara's agent has revealed otherwise, although the fee is believed to be as high as £3 million.

Camara's agent, McKay said: "We’ve already had a few personal discussions with Wigan and we’re not far away in terms of what we want. I’m just waiting for them to come back to me.

"Wigan are in the position to do a deal quickly. But I’m speaking to six other interested clubs and they all fancy him. The last thing he wants to do is to go to Wigan and get relegated.

"If Wigan play Henri though the middle for one season they will stay up. He is ready to score 20 goals next season."

Meanwhile Nathan Ellington scored the winner tonight as the Latics beat Morecambe 1-0.
