Nathan Ellington's advisor Tony Finnigan has hinted that the West Bromwich Albion striker could finally be heading back to the JJB Stadium after a year and a half absence.

Ellington, nicknamed 'The Duke' by the fans, has found first team opportunities hard to come by under new West Brom manager Tony Mowbray.

And despite coming off the bench to score twice against Preston, Finnigan has stated Ellington's desire to play more first team games, and has hinted towards a move back to Wigan.

Finnigan told the Manchester Evening News: "Let's just say Nathan is very keen to kick-start his career again.

"It's also common knowledge that the Wigan manager Paul Jewell got the best out of him when he played there."

Jewell has attempted to re-sign Ellington for the last year, but it looks more than likely that the Duke, who is just three goals short of equally Sir ANdy Liddells all time goalscorers list, will sign in January.
