Denny Landzaat is wanted by Feyenoord, who play in Landzaats home nation of Holland. Landzaat grew in confidence as last season wore on after his £2.5million from AZ Alkmaar.
Although he started poorly, Landzaat imporved during the second half of the campaign, arguably becoming one of Wigan's better players. He managed two goals in 33 Premiership appearances, including a stunning long range effort against Arsenal.
It is thought new manager Hutchings wants to keep the Holland International at the club, although Feyenoord's new coach Bert van Marwijk could be tempted to lodge a bid.
He said: "It is clear that we are aiming high.
"We want real A-players which will mean a reinforcement that can lift Feyenoord to a higher level."
