Sweden boss Lars Lagerback has called Wigan Athletic defender Andreas Granqvist into the national squad after the centre back's sensational start to the season.

The 22 year old, yes you read that right, has been in superb form for the Latics this season and has received a deserved call up to face Montenegro on Wednesday night.

Latics boss Chris Hutchings said: "He's worked extremely hard, we've given him his chance this year and he's taken it with both hands.

"I knew his capabilities and sometimes it's about getting a chance and the circumstances at which it arises, but it's down to the player at the end of the day, if you get a chance you've got to take it."

Meantime, the club have unveiled the new third kit which will go on sale on the 20th September. Prices will be £35 for juniors and £35 for adults.
