Not put off by his dreadful spell at Wigan, Kristofer haestad, of suicide back pass fame, is being lined up by Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes.

The IK Start midfielder came to Wigan with a strong reputation, having previously been watched by Manchester United.

On an initial six-month loan deal, Haestad made one crucial contribution; a back pass in his one start against Chelsea which led to a Chelsea goal.

Haestad fell into the wilderness, only to be sent home three months early after then manager Paul Jewell decided against activating a three-year option.
