He joined Tottenham from Sheffield United on New Year's Day 2004 and has become a success at White Hart Lane.
He began his career at Manchester City before being linked with a move to the Latics in our division two days. He did make a move, but he signed on for Neil Warnock's Sheffield United where he became their star player in the centre of the park.
Then came about his big move to the Premiership which Brown took with both hands and has played a big part in Tottenham's push for the Uefa Cup this season.
However, manager Martin Jol is expected to bring in a good number of players this summer, and Brown is concerned he does not feature in the manager's future plans.
He would no doubt be a welcome addition to the Latics midfield. Neither side has released comment on the story yet.
