Wigan manager Paul Jewell has laughed off speculation linking him with the vacant West Ham United job. Jewell also believes that former Hammers player Alan Curbishley is set to be the next boss at Upton Park.

The New Hammers owners sacked Alan Pardew after the weekends 4-0 loss at Bolton, and the bookies have been taking bets on who will be Pardews successor, with Jewell apparantly one of the favourites.

Jewell however, has laughed off the claims, and fully expects former Charlton manager Alan Curbishley to take over the helm at Upton Park.

Jewell told Sky Sports: "I don't take too much notice, I haven't heard anything.

"The way I see it is Curbs is right in the frame and is going to be installed pretty quickly.

"There have been no phone calls I can tell you about."
