Sky Sports are reporting that the Latics are chasing £3.5 million rated Shaktar Donetsk defender Mariusz Lewandowski.

A fee is believed to have been agreed for the defender, who has won over 50 caps for Poland, and personal terms are being discussed at present.

Lewandowski, is presently 29 year old and can play both as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder. He is well known for his strength, stamina and aerial ability.

He currently has 53 international caps for Poland and stands at 6 foot 1 inch in height.
