Latics boss Steve Bruce has revealed that the Latics are close to agreeing a deal for Ghanaian international goalkeeper Richard Kingson after the recent sale of Carlo Nash to Everton.
Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post: "Kingson is the No.1 goalkeeper for Ghana and we're hoping he will join us. At the moment he's with Ghana - they're playing in Libya this weekend, so he should be coming to see us next week.
"He hasn't got a club at the moment and we're allowed to bring in out-of-contract players. We need three goalkeepers, and make no mistake, if I hadn't got him lined up, I wouldn't have let Nash leave."
