| Paul Jewell has fought off competition from a host of other leading Premiership clubs to land Norwegian midfielder Kristofer Haestad on loan until the end of the season. |
The highly rated 23 year old midfielder has eleven international caps for his country and joins from IK Start with a view to a permenant move at teh end of the season.
Manager Paul Jewell said: "I know there were other Premiership clubs in the hunt too, so I'm delighted to have got him on board.
"He can play anywhere across the middle, and at 23, he's at the right age to test himself in this league."While Haestad himself added: "It's a dream to play in England and I'm grateful to Wigan for taking the chance on me."The Doffer, as Haestad is known, will be eligable to play in the FA Cup third round tie with Portsmouth on the 6th January. |
