In form midfielder James McCarthy has rubbished talk about a summer move away from the DW Stadium. The 19 year old is happy with the Latics and wants to develop further with the club.
The former Hamilton midfielder has set the Premiership alight with his displays since breaking into the first team in early January. His performances have drawn a great deal of attention and will no doubt have attracted attention from the top clubs.
McCarthy however is happy with the Latics, he said: "It's great to be tipped to go places, but I'm not getting carried away. I'm happy at Wigan and I have a four-year contract.
"It's been a brilliant season for me. To be making my debut in the Premier League against United and then my debut for Ireland against Brazil - a dream come true." McCarthy has been a real plus for manager Roberto Martinez who is starting to build an impressive looking young squad at the DW Stadium.
