Promising Wigan Athletic midfielder Lewis Montrose has joined Rochdale on loan until the end of the season as manager Steve Bruce aims to give the 19 year old experience of first team football.
Manager Steve Bruce said: "Lewis is a good young player and I think the experience of being in a first team environment on match-day will do him a world of good. I wish him all the best."Whilst Montrose himself didn't say: "I am really looking forward to playing for one of the biggest clubs in Yorkshire. This is a huge opportunity for me."
He will be included in the squad for Dale's game with Brentford at Griffin Park tomorrow.
Meantime, young goalkeeper Russell Saunders has also been loaned out. Also 19, Saunders has spent a loan period at Atrincham earlier in the season and will now join up with Gainsborough Trinity until the end of the season.
