On the weekend of Wigan v Manchester City, Antoine Sibierski, who played for both sides announced his retirement from the game.
Sibierski is now thirty-five and wasn't short of offers to continue playing in the game, but he didn't want to move away from the North West where his family is now settled.Speaking to Sky Sports, Sibierski said: "It is the end for me. I have chosen to stop, but I was prepared to do that. I had offers from France, Belgium, Australia even in England but I decided to listen to my family.
I thought about moving to France seriously, but my wife and my kids have said no way back so I have listened to them. I am physically ready to have at least two more seasons, but since last year in my head it was over for me.
"I am looking forward to other things now, but I will still be in football."
Certainly a favourite of the Latics fans during his time with the club, Sibierski will not doubt be wished all the best for the future from Wiganers.
