Obafemi Martins is likely to missing for Newcastle's visit to the JJB Stadium in Boxing Day as the Latics prepare to go fancy dress.
Martins is suffering from a groin inury and will be out until Newcastle face Liverpool two days after our encounter on Boxing Day."I'd be disappointed if he's not back for the Liverpool match," Kinnear
told the Shields Gazette.
"He did his groin when he scored at Portsmouth. From then he hasn't had one day off the treatment table.
"On Saturday I took him off and he had a bit of a stretch, but he couldn't do it. He was still getting pain, so I stuck him back on the treatment table."
Former Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka is likely to be Martins' replacement.
