The Guardian newspaper today claimed Fulham midfielder Michael Brown held talks with club officials last night, and that he could be joined by West Ham striker Marlon Harewood.

Fulham's Brown has been a long-term target for Wigan, with the Latics attempting to sign him when he left Tottenham; he eventually chose Fulham.

He reportedly held transfer talks last night, which should mean an offer has been accepted by the London club.

Whether this means Hutch' has given up on his chase for West Broms Jason Koumas, after missing out on Jagielka who moved to Everton, is unknown.

The Wigan manager has also stepped up his chase for another striker, with a £3.2million offer for Marlon Harewood being rumoured.

Like Brown, he has been long admired by Wigan, and the Guardian are claiming Wigan are winning the race to sign the hotshot, who has also been linked with Brimginham, Aston Villa and Manchester City.
