Scottish defender Andy Webster has extended his loan period at Rangers for until January 2008.. The Scottish giants hope to make the move permanent duringthe January transfer window.

Webster first moed to Ibrox during last seasons January transfer window, but an injury in his first training session meant the former Hearts defender is yet to make a senior appearance for Rangers.

Having returned to Wigan, the Latics allowed Webster to return to Scotland after he made just four appearances in the Premier League after his precedent-setting move from Hearts.

It is expected, if all goes well, that Websters loan will turn permanent during next seasons January transfer window.
