Paul Jewell believes Kevin Kilbane has the killer instinct to shoot Wigan to Premiership safety. The Republic of Ireland international scored his first Latics goal in Sundays 3-3 draw.

The Wigan manager feels Kilbane embodies the 'never shy away' attitude that his side must show in their final four games, if Premiership safety is to be achieved.

The boss said: "I think he is one of those players who never hides -
even when things are going wrong he never hides,"

"His goal was a great delivery and a great header. Sometimes crowds can easily pick up on him.

"But hopefully he will go on and in the next four games, if he is selected, he will score us another goal or two."
